School Profile
Loma Linda Academy (LLA), located in the city of Loma Linda, California, is a Seventh-day Adventist college preparatory high school with an esteemed tradition of excellence. It was established in 1906 and over the years has served a diverse population.
Accreditation
The Academy was granted a continuation of accreditation in 2008 for a six-year term by WASC, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, and the Adventist Accreditation Association.
Faculty
We are proud of our faculty and Staff. Of the 87 certified teachers and Administration, all have at least a B.S. or B.A. degree: 39 have Master's degree, 5 have either an Ed.D. or Ph.D. and 2 have Ed.S. degrees.
Enrollment
Total enrollment for 2011 school year began with 1318 students. 626 at the elementary, 228 at the junior high and 464 at the high school, making up a very diverse group of students.
Special Programs
La Sierra University, a private Seventh-day Adventist institution located in Riverside California, offers Calculus I, and English 111, 112, 113 to qualified seniors for college credit on our campus.
Honors Classes
Honors classes are offered in the areas of Mathematics, Science, English, and History.
Athletic Program
There is a well rounded athletic program in which students can participate. Programs include an active varsity and junior varsity program in flagball, volleyball, softball, soccer, golf, basketball, and track and field. With the exception of flagball, all of these are within the California Interscholastic Federation. (CIF)
