Dear Parents and Students:
The Bible tells the story of a time when mothers and children were coming to Jesus, but His disciples assumed that the children would be a distraction or nuisance to Jesus. So His helpers ran interference and started to send the children away. When Jesus saw what was happening, He said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” (Luke 18:16 NIV)
At Loma Linda Academy Elementary School, we share that same high regard for children. It is the desire of the faculty and staff to be instruments used by God to encourage the young people in our care to enter into a close and saving relationship with Jesus. We want them to know the God that created and redeemed them. And that is why we exist!
We see each child at LLAE as a “gift of the Lord.” “His workmanship.” (Psalms 127:3 & Ephesians 2:10). Each boy and girl here is seen as having a special, divinely appointed purpose. We aspire to help our students become aware of their special purpose and to prepare them spiritually, mentally, socially, and physically to live out God’s plan for their lives and enter into “…the joy of service in this world and for the higher joy of wider service in the world to come.” (Education, p. 13)
The faculty and staff of LLAE are keenly aware of the awesome responsibility that we share with parents in preparing our young people for this life and the eternal life that is to come.
