Kindergarten Strider Bike Program, Alexander Smith and Malcolm Smith Motorsports

LLA would like to extend a big “thank you” to Alexander Smith, '04, of Malcolm Smith Motorsports for funding LLA's new Kindergarten Strider Bike Program. Smith provided 27 fully assembled Strider Bikes and an instruction bike for Kindergarten PE classes. The Strider Bikes Program launch is the first of its kind in the Inland Empire.
The Elementary School Gym was filled with excitement and smiling faces on Friday morning as all four of the Kindergarten classes found a seat on the gym mats for a special event. Thanks to the generous sponsorship by LLA Alumnus Alexander Smith, Class of 2004, of Malcolm Smith Motorsports, the Kindergarten PE classes will enjoy learning to ride a bike along with the many healthy life lessons that are part of the experience. The gift of 27 brand new kid-sized Strider Bikes arrived fully assembled with even a special bike for the instructor included as well.

The program began with a welcome from Principal Ron Trautwein that was followed by an explanation of the program and bike safety by PE Coaches Rhonda Bonney and Robert Castillo. Words of appreciation and recognition were given by Vice Principal Blanca Calixto. Celebratory photos in front of the new Strider Bikes were taken with Alexander, School Admin, Teachers/Staff, and the children. The joyous occasion concluded with snacks for the children and comments of appreciation from the Head of Schools, Iveth Valenzuela.
