The Loma Linda Academy String Program is a unique offering for students at LLA and in the community who are interested in serious study of violin, viola, cello, and harp. Following the teaching of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, students in our program participate in both weekly private lessons and group classes appropriate to their level. All of our private teachers hold degrees in music and have taken extensive training in teaching their instruments through the SuzukiTM method.
Additionally, we have two orchestras: LLA Concert String Orchestra (Stephanie Kime Popa, director), which is geared toward intermediate level string players as an introduction to orchestral playing; and the LLA Symphony Orchestra (Dr. Dean Anderson, director), a more advanced level symphony orchestra, including woodwinds, brass, and percussion.
